Hi, I’m Dave Bloom,
I’ve been the owner of Pine Aire Truck Service for over 35 years. Not a day goes by without me analyzing our processes and brainstorming ways to do things better.
I got my footing in the industry as a truck technician. By the age of 25, I was trusted to manage a large shop. Thinking that I knew everything, I refinanced everything I owned and purchased my own shop. Our first shop was in a dilapidated building on a dirt road: what a disaster!
After a few years, I came to the realization that I didn’t know everything about being a business owner and went through some really tough financial times. But I hung in there, and I never gave up.
Through ongoing education, extremely hard work, and the support of my staff, family, and friends, I gradually grew the business into the state-of-the-art shop that Pine Aire is today.
My personal standards for our company are high. I always ask myself, “If I were a technician truck owner, would I work with our company?” Through thick and thin, three things have always remained the same:
We care about vehicle dependability, longevity, and safety. Our commitment to vehicle care shows not only in the quality of our work but also in the decades-long relationships we’ve cultivated with our loyal customers.
Hiring nothing but the best in the truck service industry: it’s in our DNA. Our staff of truck technicians and service advisors are all ASE-certified and continually trained.
We stay ahead of the curve by investing in equipment and technology that offers top-notch execution for our clients. The result? Better quality, longer-lasting repairs.
We liaise with the best in the truck service industry. Some of our partners include our friends over at DRIVE Shops, North America’s leading auto/truck management training and software company.

Like many destined truck technicians, Dave spent most of his childhood intrigued with taking things apart and attempting to put them back together. This led to tinkering with his parent’s cars and then his own. By the age of twenty-five, he was trusted to manage a large truck repair shop. Then in 1986, Dave opened Pine Aire Truck Service in a rundown building down a dirt road.
Although his beginnings were humble, Dave dedicated himself to ongoing education and an unrelenting work ethic. These characteristics, coupled with employing some of the brightest and talented staff in the industry, have enabled Pine Aire to grow into a nationally recognized state of the art truck shop.
Dave says… “We constantly strive to provide our customers with more than what is expected from a good truck repair shop, and our employees with a place that they can proudly call their own.”
Dave also recognizes he would not be where he is today without the love and support of his wife, Cindy, and two daughters, Janae and Haley. When he is not thinking of ways to better serve his customers, you can find him coaching high school lacrosse and enjoying his boat.

Her responsibilities have grown to include every financial aspect including receivables (yes, that is her calling you when you’re late paying!), payables, banking, payroll, human resources, and dealing directly with our accountant. She takes her job very seriously and consistently increases efficiency in the handling of our finances.
Marlene has two wonderful boys with Wilton — her partner of over 17 years. She also has a passion for home décor and exploring ideas from Pinterest that she uses to decorate her home. In addition, Marlene is a certified cosmetologist and enjoys poker nights, competitive dancing, as well as cooking.
Marlene says…”For over 9 years, I’ve been expanding my responsibilities at Pine Aire. Having previously worked at a publishing company, I came to Pine Aire with organizational skills and a passion for honesty and efficiency. These are the same ideals that Dave has for both our employees and our customers. My responsibilities are ever-increasing as our company expands, and I love it! I have happily found my niche here at Pine Aire Truck Service.

Pete is the man responsible for keeping the truck technicians humming by making sure the parts are correct and on their shelves, ready for installation. He continuously works at developing systems and resources to find our customers the best pricing while also getting parts in fast enough to get trucks back on the road quickly.
He is extremely well respected by his suppliers due to his good nature and honesty. His good nature goes a long way when he occasionally asks them to rush jobs in order to meet customer’s needs. Pete is an avid camper and also an active member of LIBBA, Long Island Beach Buggy Association, whose mission is conservation, ecology, and beach access. He also loves spending time with his family and gardening.
Pete says. “I love working at Pine Aire because I work with a great group of fellow employees. Having a certificate in Diesel Mechanics from Wilson Tech, an Associate degree in Applied Sciences in Automotive Engineering Technology from SUNY Farmingdale, and being a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers for over 35 years, I’ve put that knowledge to good use in the everyday challenges of acquiring parts to keep the workflow moving in our shop. I believe that we are one of, if not the best shops on Long Island, for truck repairs.
From early on in life, it was clear that David was destined for a career in the automotive repair industry. At thirteen years old, he would change the oil in his family cars with the help of his father. He would also gain knowledge in the field by accompanying his mechanic cousin on auto repair jobs.
What started as an overall interest in automotive repair has turned into a career with a specific focus on diesel repair. David has come a long way since changing oil with his father, and he has proven to be a hardworking and valuable member of the Pine Aire team.
When not at work, David enjoys training his two dogs, Duke and Diesel. His other hobbies include fishing and spending time at the beach.
David says, “I like the constant learning and challenges that each vehicle can bring. At the age of 20, I got my first diesel tech job where I was an apprentice and learned the basics of diesel repair. I worked at another shop where I learned motor repair, suspension, and transmissions. After that, I started at Pine Aire where I continue to learn and grow. What sets this facility apart from others is the level of professionalism and camaraderie among the staff.
“My dad is a really hard-working man,” Edgar told us. “I’ve always been inspired by my family. They worked with trucks, and I knew that I wanted to be like them. I wanted to be a truck driver and a diesel mechanic.”
Fast forward to adulthood. After three years of gaining valuable experience with roll-off and waste collection trucks as a CDL driver, Edgar is making his childhood dream come true. He now works as a diesel truck technician with Pine Aire Truck Service.
“I have a wife and son who I love,” Edgar says. “And I want to give them everything I can. I would go above and beyond for them so they can have a good life.”
Edgar hopes to become an expert in his field, develop his skills, and continue to take advantage of as many professional development opportunities that come his way. He indicated that he’s excited about advancing his career with us at Pine Aire Truck Services (and we couldn’t be happier!).
Outside of Pine Aire, Edgar loves spending time with family, going to the park to play soccer, exploring local biking trails, and lending a hand to his friendly neighbors.
Curiosity: it’s what drives Jorge Zelaya. It’s what he believes is necessary for becoming a better professional.
“Life has been such a great journey so far, but I still always ask myself: what’s the next step? What else is out there that I can learn?”
Jorge’s passion and desire for learning is what has fueled him to work on trucks for the last five years of his life. Having the opportunity to learn is what inspired Jorge to work with us at Pine Aire (we’re thrilled he’s on board!).
In his free time, Jorge enjoys reading books and working out.

Truck Technician
Since I was 12, diesel engines have fascinated me. By the time I turned 16, I started working on my own car, exploring my car’s engine functions and figuring out how everything worked.
This early hands-on experience has fueled my passion for the diesel industry and service technician work.
Now, I’m a 20-year-old diesel mechanic apprentice at Pine Aire Truck. I’m always looking to improve and take on new challenges.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from the senior techs at Pine Aire. They’ve taken the time to teach and guide me as I grow in my career.
Professionally, my goal is to earn all 58 ASE certifications and become a master ASE-certified technician.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer and gaming. Call of Duty and FIFA are my top game choices.
